Our policy for laboratory testing at Carrollwood Integrative Medicine is to draw the specimen in our lab, collect payment for the test and provide you with an HCFA form to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Because we have worked with the laboratories to obtain special low pricing for each test, we can pass that savings on to you.  If your insurance company pays a percentage of lab work and you choose to go to a free standing lab draw station, you will pay a much larger fee.  For instance, each laboratory has negotiated a much higher price with insurance companies.  This means labs that would cost you $140 here may be billed by the laboratory to your insurance company for approximately $600.00.  If you are responsible for 20% - 40% of lab charges, you may end up being billed by the laboratory $120.00 to $240.00 for the difference.  Please keep in mind that the total amount that we charge you is submittable by you to your insurance company, so you will receive a reimbursement for the fees you pay us.  In other words, you would end up being billed by the laboratory for the difference vs. being reimbursed if you go through us and use our pricing.  This translates to being both a convenience and a savings for our patients.

In the event that you are absolutely positive that your insurance company will cover your laboratory testing costs 100%, we are happy to provide you with a voucher to either Lab Corporation or Quest Diagnostics to have your blood drawn at one of their free standing lab stations conveniently located around the city.

Medicare patients are provided with vouchers for Lab Corporation since they are the approved laboratory for Medicare.
